Attendance

Research has shown that there is a strong link between attendance and academic achievement. However, there are many other benefits to regular school attendance such as being able to establish and maintain friendships, learn important life skills and have the highest chance of future success.

We ask that all parents and carers work with us to ensure their child is attending school every day, except in the case of exceptional circumstances or illness. If your child will be absent from school for any reason, please phone the school office each day of the absence before 9:30am to let us know. We also politely request that, where possible, you arrange dental/medical appointments outside of school hours so as not to disrupt your child’s education. This also applies to holidays during term time, which will not be approved unless in exceptional circumstances and may result in a penalty from Wokingham Borough Council.

For more information please see the summary of our School Attendance Policy via the links below. Currently, versions are available in Polish, Ukrainian, Urdu and Romanian.

If there is anything that we can do to support you to improve your child’s attendance, please do not hesitate to contact the School Attendance Officer, Laura Hanton, via attendance@earley-st-peters.wokingham.sch.uk
