Nursery

Welcome to Earley St Peter's Nursery  

In our nursery Mrs Macdonald is the class teacher Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and Mrs Howell is the teacher on Thursday. We have a Nursery Nurse, Miss Sandhu and Nursery Assistants Mrs Datlen and Mrs Tyagi

In Nursery we have two sessions- 8.30am – 11.30am and 12.30pm – 3.30pm. Some children that are entitled to the government’s 30 hours funding stay all day. 8.30-3.30pm. The children attend for either 5 mornings, 5 afternoons or 5 full days.

The Nursery Day

During the Nursery session some of the time is child initiated play, when the children choose the area they would like to play and the adults in nursery interact and help their learning. Some of the time the children have adult led group times. Each day within the session we have 2 or 3 group times. 

Monday - Maths groups, phonics, Story time and singing , News from the Nursery bears

Tuesday – Story telling/theme introduction, phonics, maths groups  and singing

Wednesday - Outdoor learning day

Thursday - Story time, Hall time, phonics/rhyme time, maths groups and singing

Friday –  Library session with story time, School playground – bike/scooter time, Helicopter stories and singing

Each session we do dough disco, this is fine and gross motor skills with playdough whilst listening to music and we have a snack time of fruit and milk.
