Wellbeing Support
At Earley St. Peter’s we aim to offer provision where children can feel safe and secure to explore their emotional and social wellbeing, learn about themselves, develop and grow.
We have a designated team available to support children’s social, emotional and mental health. Leading the team is the SENDCo, Fiona Dunthorne, who is the Mental Health Lead within the school. Our Parent Support Advisor and Nurture lead is Emma Sale. Supporting the team are also two qualified Nurture Assistants.
Our experienced staff are specifically trained to work with individuals or small groups using a range of resources and interventions. Sessions are fun and informative, using activities and resources to motivate, engage and support the children. Before children attend Nurture provision parents are informed by letter and are requested to sign a permission slip.
Within school we are fortunate to have private designated spaces for nurture sessions – The Nurture Pod, a smaller room for 1:1 sessions and The Nurture Cabin, a larger space for groups.
